The Black Star International Festival is an event organized by our non-profit organization, the Black Star Film Institute, dedicated to advocating for the film industry and providing a creative forum in Africa, for discovery, exchange and education of independent artists and filmmakers worldwide.

We are driven by the passion to position Ghana and Africa as a film hub, bridging the gap between Africa and World Cinema. Established in 2016, the sixth annual edition of BSIFF runs from August 25-29, 2021.

The Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) cannot exist without sponsorships and partnerships hence, we are very keen at providing Festival sponsors, valuable opportunities to “own” a vital element of the Festival. We connect sponsors to industry professionals, film lovers and filmmakers from Africa and around the world.

Focused on the business of film and industry advocacy, the festival is committed to giving filmmakers and other stakeholders the best development experience and distribution opportunities. BSIFF provides the occasion to meet with fellow filmmakers, musicians, other creative talents, and distributors, and attend daily workshops, masterclasses and panels designed to broaden your creative understanding and share ideas.

BSIFF also offers cultural experiences to all our festival participants to display the wonders of Ghana and our partners help us to provide education, training and introduce the beautiful Ghanaian culture to our audiences.
