Who We Are

We Are An International Film Festival, Focused on the Business of Film and Advocacy.

BSIFF is the biggest film festival in Ghana. Engage, network and display your great works. Learn, do business with Ghanaian, regional and global filmmakers on our platform!

The Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) is organized by the Black Star International Film Institute, founded in 2015 by Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante, with the vision of positioning Ghana as a film tourist destination through BSIFF and causing industry change through relevant film advocacy.

Our mission is to create connections through film and bridge the gap between African cinema and the world.

    • To provide opportunities for filmmakers all over the globe to learn, network, do business and celebrate their craft within an African context, opening global opportunities for the filmmakers and audiences attending our festival.
    • To create a bridge between filmmakers within Africa and the world, fostering the exchange of cultures, employment creation, improving skill sets and enhancing film business opportunities and investments in the sector.

“Ghana is a critical voice in the region. BSIFF continues to impact the industry in very interesting ways, serving as a rallying point to connect the dots.” — Juliet Asante, Founding President.
